About Us

I’m Nicole — founder of Perfect Pumpkins Chicago, which I proudly run alongside my parents, Tom and Cindy Nelson.

What began as a wild idea has turned into one of the most unexpected (and delightful) plot twists of our lives. While we may look like your typical family business, we’re actually a powerhouse trio — each bringing a unique skill set that makes the magic happen.

Tom, my dad, is a logistics expert with a decades-long career running international manufacturing plants. He keeps our operations running like clockwork — no detail missed, no pumpkin misplaced.

Cindy, my mom (lovingly nicknamed “Martha Stewart” for as long as I can remember), has a background in visual merchandising for brands like Hallmark and Pottery Barn. She’s the creative force behind our signature, swoon-worthy pumpkin displays. 

And me — I’m Nicole, also the creator of lifestyle brand Cedar & Rush. I’ve styled and produced custom social campaigns for national brands including Serena & Lily, Calico, and Wayfair, and my work has been featured in Martha Stewart Living, Southern Living, and Magnolia Journal.

Together, we blend logistics, design, and storytelling to deliver seasonal porch styling that’s anything but ordinary.
